Social platforms have not only emerged as important news platforms for the public, but also as useful tools for journalists. Journalists use social media to find story that leads and share their work with audiences, which has made journalism more interactive. There are good things about social media journalism is that social media has made journalism easier as writers are able to spread their work to larger audience in seconds. The bad thing is, Social media is at the consumer’s convenience and provide them with what they want to see. It becomes bias in believing social media over true journalist work. This makes edited pieces, articles, and time feel as if they are a waste because they are not receiving the credit and recognition they deserve.

In Op-Ed from Lewis Wallace, the article was very persuasive. He made a excellent point about journalism and where journalist needs to fight back. Wallace also made a good point that we need to be honest to ourselves with full integrity, loyalty, and trustworthy. It is also important that having a freedom of speech which is that you must speak up for yourselves for that things around the world needs to change politically, economically, and socially in order to have your voice to be heard. This illustrate why Wallace’s article is very persuasive.
Social media can be dangerous because it brings negative impact on society and around the world. Social media use is associated with a variety of issues including emotional and mental issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness, and low self-esteem, physical issues .For example, Maria was arrested several times for cyberlibel. She was arrested because of the conspiracy theories and misinformation that were being spread by social media against her and which jeopardize her career. Ressa was just staraightfoward and typical journalist. Also, Social Media made a baseless conspiracy theories about Covid-19 and Vaccine misinformation that were being spread by the unvaccinated people and which makes people hesitate to take the vaccine. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media platform didn’t take action properly and they just want to let these conspiracy theory continue. Another example, when Trump made a false allegation and conspiracy theory about 2020 election that there was a widespread voter fraud and the election was RIGGED on Twitter. This conspiracy theories makes people believe it and which escalated to January 6th US Capitol Hill insurrection attack which was darkest day of US History. This is why social media is dangerous to the society.
