1- Creating layers in illustrator is valuable so then you can organize the parts of your design. If you have a very detailed design and you need to go in and fixed something, you can find the layer and fix it. Its very good for organization.
2- You can check if the shape is closed by using the Pen tool and checking the anchor points. You can also use the direct selection tool which also shows the anchor points to make sure the shape is closed.
Question 01– Creating layers in Adobe Illustrator is extremely valuable because it helps organize your artwork and keeps your design process efficient. This is especially helpful when working on complex designs because it reduces confusion and makes editing much easier. Another important benefit is control. By using layers, you can lock certain elements, hide them, or rearrange their order. For example, if you are designing a digital story or illustration, you can keep your background on one layer and your main subject on another, which prevents accidental changes. Layers also make collaboration easier because others can clearly understand how your project is structured. Question 02 – To make sure shapes are closed in Adobe Illustrator, you need to ensure that all anchor points are properly connected. A closed shape means that the starting point and ending point of a path are joined, forming a complete outline. This is important because only closed shapes can be filled with color properly. One way to check if a shape is closed is by using the Direct Selection Tool and clicking on the anchor points. If the endpoints are not connected, you will see a gap between them. You can fix this by selecting both points and using the combine command. Another method is to try filling the shape with color if the fill leaks out or does not apply correctly, the shape is likely open. You can also use Outline View to clearly see whether paths are fully connected. Making sure shapes are closed ensures cleaner designs and avoids issues when coloring or exporting your work.

In Illustrator you can check this by looking for a small circle next to the Pen Tool cursor which means the path will close when you click the first anchor point. You can also select the shape and see if it fills with color if it fills, it means the shape is closed.
