Each week you will need to respond to two questions posted. Your response should be a minimum of 150 words for both questions. You should also include at least one response to your fellow students. The responses are a requirement for participation part of your grade.

How do you fill a selection with the foreground color? Background color?
Loading selections is really helpful for a few reasons. First, it saves you time when you need to select the same area more than once. Instead of using the lasso tool to trace around something again, you just click and load the saved selection right away. This is useful when working on detailed images where selecting takes a long time. Second, it keeps your work the same every time because you are always selecting the exact same area. When you add different effects to the same spot, you know you are working with the same pixels. Third, you can mix saved selections together to make new selections. You can add them together, take parts away, or find where they match up. This gives you more options when editing. Finally, loading selections helps because you can try different effects and always go back to your original selection without making it again from the start. This is very useful when working on big projects that take multiple editing sessions to complete.
Filling a selection with color is easy in Photoshop. To fill with the foreground color, press Option+Delete on Mac. This fills your selected area with whatever color you have picked as your foreground color in the toolbar. You can also click on Edit, then Fill, and pick “Foreground Color” from the menu. This way lets you change how see-through the fill is. To fill with the background color, press Command+Delete on Mac. This does the same thing but uses your background color instead. You can also use the Edit menu and choose “Background Color” from the Fill options. These methods are useful for adding solid colors to shapes, filling in text, or making colored backgrounds. The keyboard shortcuts are the fastest way to fill selections, but using the Fill menu gives you more control if you want to change how transparent the color is or mix the color differently with what is already there in your image.
