
I liked this cover the most because of its simplicity, this was one of the only if not the only posters using a white background. There’s something refreshing looking about that, especially when the other posters are very colorful and “loud” with their designs. I think it works because of that simplicity and then using a familiar saying of “Mind over Matter;” which everyone has heard before and conceptualizing that in a visual way. The artist uses the white background in contrast with the colors they used to write “Mind,” then again by using a pen/ pencil to write the word “Matter.” Where they placed the writing is also interesting, instead of putting it directly in the middle of the page, they made it off center. They also put the UCLA information in the top left corner and it’s going to draw your eyes in after you see the “Mind over Matter” design.
