During my time within this dental hygiene program, I have had the privilege of working on unique various cases that have taught me a lot. Below, I discussed the cases of two individuals I had the privilege of meeting, treating, and caring for as a student.

  1. Mrs.-Z case study #1 :  Mrs.Z is a 71 year old Caucasian female who was assigned ASA 3 based on her previous cancers and radiation treatments, along with various surgeries. She was also assigned ASA 3 due to her ongoing medical conditions such as anxiety disorder, allergies, and uncontrolled blood pressure. Based on her clinical assessments and radiograph’s evidence, she was diagnosed with Stage III, Grade B Periodontitis.
  2. Mr. K case study #2: Mr. K is a 19 year old African American male who was assigned ASA 2 based on his chronic asthma that he’s been dealing with for 15 years along  with his allergies. Based on his clinical assessments findings and radiograph’s, he was diagnosed with generalized severe gingivitis
