There are many things one should avoid when trying to have a healthy lifestyle. As the picture above mention, one should avoid eating white bread and eat whole grain bread. White bread is bad because it is “high on the Glycemic Index (GI) a system that ranks food based on it’s effect of blood sugar levels” (Zeigler, unknown date). Grain is very important to consume, as it is one-fourth of the new food pyramid (plate). Pizza has a lot of calories in it, and adding topping give it even more calories (but who can resist?) Instead of adding your regular toppings like extra cheese or pepperoni, you should add vegetables or even ham because it is healthier. One should also avoid fried food – it might taste good, but it doesn’t look good on your body. Frying food is just adding extra grease onto it. You should avoid eating fast-food because they use tons of oil (grease) and their food are never fresh.  You would know your food is healthy if your food is fresh, and doesn’t have to be microwaved. Another thing one should avoid is diet soda. As we all know, soda is not healthy for you, but neither is diet soda (don’t get fooled by the labeling). The only difference between regular soda and diet soda is the sugar. Diet soda does not have sugar, it is in fact replaced with sweetener which is just as harmful. Moreover, Dana D. Sterner states, “Research suggest we should choose food that have little or no effect on blood sugar: rich in fiber, low in energy density, and full of antioxidants…six healthful foods and beverages that will curb your appetite, make you feel fuller longer, and fit into any lifesytle: fiber-rich foods, chicken, grape fruits, apples, water, and tea.”  With that information you can conclude some food items you should avoid, such as things with extra sugar, and man-made food and liquid. In addition to man-made items, consuming alcohol and tobacco products are also unhealthy for the body and mind of a person. They are both not natural, and causes one to have an unhealthy lifestyle, body and future. Lastly, one should avoid sleeping after eating. If a person goes to sleep right after eating, they are not allowing time for their body to digest the food properly causing them to be unhealthy, and transfer the food into fat cells. The motto one should always think of is “beat the grease” and ” if its man-made it is a blockade.”
