    Hi Nicholas V,

These are all really interesting ideas. I think the father and son video is probably the easiest one to film this course.

    Son forgets food for dad.
I really like the idea of the son taking care of his father. Is the father disabled? Is he unable to take care of himself? Is the father a widow? What is the driving force behind the son taking care of his dad? There is a story here of a father and son relationship I think would be really interesting to explore.

    Student is late for school.
These kinds of films can be so fun to make. I did something like this back in college. The challenge in filming it is that you need a lot of locations, and a lot of extras. You need to have a scene at the party with a few people, which is definitely doable. I think the real struggle will be that of the school and the classroom. There might be a different way to approach this story and still incorporate the elements of the film you want to achieve. Maybe a friend calls him and tells him about the test? Maybe its a gym class and they need to run on the track?

    Man goes to a Bar.
I really am fascinated by this story. It has some really interesting concepts and tones. I want to know more about the man. Why was he so surprised the bartender was a woman? Is this a bar he always go to and she is new? Are we in a drunk mans dream? Are we at a bar at all? Is he drunk because he got laid off from his job? What’s so special about this bar?

Nice work. I can’t wait to see more.

    Hello Nicholas V.

    Son forgets food for dad.

I personally think this idea would be the easiest one to execute. It’s creative and easy to make. What restaurant will you end up using? Do you have access to any nearby restaurants? What will the mood of this story be? Seems like it could be either a serious story or a more comedic one. Either way, I think this could become a good short when executed.

    Student is late for school.

This one is also another good idea. Like the professor said before, you would probably need access to extra people and locations. Do you have access to the necessary people and locations? If not, what can you do to execute your idea the way that you want to? I believe this can be done well if you have access to the required materials.

    Man goes to a Bar.

This one sounds really interesting. Do you have access to an older person who can be the main character? Do you have access to a local bar to shoot in? If not, how can you still execute the idea? I like the twist that the bartender was actually a guy instead of a woman. This story looks like it could be a funny one when it’s executed.

    Hi Nicholas,

I think your second logline and outline are very relatable and would definitely make for a good short video. I also agree with professor and how it could be difficult to shoot with all the different locations; Maybe the script could be adjusted to fit this? Instead of partying the student could have been up all night playing video games or watching shows, and so on. Maybe the student never actually makes it to school and completely misses the quiz. There’s room to fix things around and allow yourself to make this video come alive.

I also think the first logline could be interesting too. There’s a lot of different directions you can go with this. The dad could be sick & understanding of him forgetting, or he could be lazy & abusive & throw a fit as a reaction, there’s multiple courses of action that can occur depending on how you decide he reacts to the son forgetting the food, or even how the son reacts.
