Concept 1

Augmented Reality Glasses

My idea with these are glasses are that you can see a virtual like Heads Up Display (or HUD).  Like the ones you see in video games, except it’s in your glasses and life is not a game.  If you played a video game in your life, you should know that the HUD helps you out in numerous ways, making it easier for you to play the game.  In turn, there are several ways you would be able to use this.

One way is real time GPS, allowing you to easily know where everything is around you and how to get there and if you want to know more about the area around you, all you have to do is look to the top left of the glasses or something and a mini-map will be there.   Another would be similar to that of a health bar just like in games, except instead of just one bar, you’d see more of a human figure or something on the top left of the screen.  This way, you’ll be able to see the condition of various parts of your body since in real life, you can’t determine how your body is working from one health bar.

Other then video game aspects, there are also several other uses we could do with if these Augmented Reality glasses existed.  If we added a little bit of Virtual Reality, we could add some sort of sensors for our fingers to touch and interact with the glasses.  One example is waving your hand in the air so that a menu appears, followed touching the parts of the menu to interact with it.  To make this easier, a sensor on a watch or even gloves or something could be used, and we could also emulate the feel of actually touching the menu.

In turn, both of these combined wouldn’t be augmented or virtual reality but mixed reality.  However, having both of these combined just adds the amount of uses these glasses could do to a wide arrange of uses.

Concept 2

Brain Chip

Although the brain implant chip has been worked on for quite a while, there still hasn’t been one made for humans.  Really, having a chip in your brain, though it may seem kind of strange, would give us the processing power of a computer anywhere we go.

Really though, one thing I’d love to use it for would be ordering food.  I feel that the order I think up in my mind is a thousand times more accurate then what I actually say.  So maybe we could just visit a restaurant and as soon as I enter, if  I know what I want, it’s automatically ordered for me.  In turn, all I have to do would be wait for my food and I don’t have to worry about the chefs misunderstanding my order nor would I have to wait that long in line to even place that said order.

There are still basically an infinity amount of uses we could use a brain implant chip for though.  A lot of it could be something similar to that of what I have for my first concept, however there are still many more uses this chip would have over the glasses.  One, it’d give accurate information on your body since it’s attached to your brain and two, you might be able to go onto the internet or something of the like almost anywhere…  Possibly with some zones to disable these temporarily from working so that they don’t cheat on a school test or something.

Concept 3

Invisibility Cloak

For you Harry Potter fans, this is a well known item.  Really though, it might not be a cloak in the end.  The basic idea would be numerous cameras all around taking pictures at an immense rate, maybe that of a faster rate than a camcorder.  In turn, it’ll use those pictures to make an image on whatever we’re using to cover our body, and in a sense make us invisible.  Technically, full invisibility isn’t possible with this method, as it may look a little bit off if one focuses on where you’re standing.  However, if they don’t know you’re there, chances are they wouldn’t be able to find you.
