imagiNATION-Deliver

I enjoyed doing this project, at first I thought this was going to be a easy project. However, once I started going out on the streets looking for the perfect crack or stain on the ground I was met with frustration, it took me a while to actually find a crack that represents a letter or word. In the end, my Imagination skills became sharp.

I posted some of the sketches of the 20 photos I took, but those were not the images I choose to use with chalk. I was at the park and used cracks on the ground to add the type faces on. Most of the cracks formed a letter Y and a letter A it was the most common letter to do. It was difficult to find out what letter fits in, I didn’t want to force a letter or just put random letters, to solve my problem I just stepped away and looked at the ground as a whole and just started to see what letter are forming.

when doing this project I thought it was going to be easy because we are just going to be drawing in chalk but I thought wrong. When I went to draw on some of the surfaces the chalk didn’t show up because some area was to smooth for the chalk to work well on so I had to find another area to work on, and the sketches felt way different then the actual place we have to draw on

So basically on the first picture there’s a little hole which I made it as a dot of a ( j ) letter and I wrote the rest which makes it a ( j ) letter. Second picture the starting point is on the ( O ) so which I made a ( wow ) word. Third picture the starting point is a little tape of the ( P ) letter and I wrote ( DOPE ) word on there.

By the end of this project, I thought that it was something new and really unexpected. I got this feeling I really enjoyed trying to see letters or words, into random things I see almost everyday. I also liked that this project required me to go out into the world and observe it from a new point-of-view.

This project was unlike any i’ve done before i taught it was unique and interesting and kind of fun ounce i started to sketch it was easier to draw it for real on concrete with chalk an charcoal i feel like this project played heavily off the first project with space and background and foreground and pushed me to think about my design  decisions in relation to space.
