Instructions:

  • On one sheet of visualizing paper, make a TWO-POINT perspective drawing of YOUR TOY CAR as seem from slightly above.
  • Leave room for wheels but do NOT draw them yet. You will draw the wheels next week.
  • Include the invisible sides.
  • Pay attention to proportions (relative height, length and width) so that the car drawing looks like your toy car.
  • Pay attention to design, including scale and page placement.
  • Upload this perspective drawing, along with a photo of your actual toy car, to the Car Drawings category housed under Student Posts in OpenLab

Checklist:

  • Is there only one horizon line?
  • Are your two vanishing points on the horizon line and located at the edge of the paper?
  • Do all guidelines go to the appropriate vanishing points?
  • Have you included features on both visible and invisible sides of the car, and do these features line-up with guidelines?
  • Are your guidelines lightly drawn but still visible?
  • Have you included dotted lines for “invisibles”?
  • Do the proportions of your drawn car match those of your toy car?
  • Does the car fill the page in a visually exciting manner, with no dead space?
  • Have you uploaded both a photo and drawing of your car to the Car Drawings category listed under Student Posts on OpenLab?
