For this project, we had to follow along with a Unity tutorial and complete it. I chose a tutorial that taught me how to build a haunted house game called John Lemon’s Haunted Jaunt. The project required downloaded prefabs and gave an overview of the various scripts and animations needed to make the project run. The main goal of the game is to get the player character through the haunted house without being spotted by patrolling enemies. Enemies included wandering ghosts and gargoyles that would patrol the level.
Overall, I was able to get the project to run and was also able to include some extra enemies that served as obstacles the player needed to get around. The extra enemies I added were originally able to attack the player but I couldn’t get it to completely work so that’s something I would like to work on in the future. Working on the project taught me more about player animations and arrays. Having the ghosts move on a predetermined path was also something I didn’t have too much expertise with but the project helped me learn more about how to do that.
