Please Discuss about inverse trigonometric functions based on a practical example from everyday life. (STEM applications).

Bring the example and show how the inverse functions apply to solve the problem.

Am I the only one that does get this page when I click on the textbook link? I can’t get access to the material. 

The task posted on files in our course site is due on Monday, Feb. 25, and it should be discussed here. (I am attaching it here as well).

Please focus on these issues:

1. a) What are you asked to do in the first question a) in the task?                            b) Is there any formula that helps you to do that?                                                          c) What is known and what is unknown? Do you see any function ? If yes, specify the independent and the dependent variable and their relation in the function.
2. What are you asked to do in the second question b) in the task?                            Does the formula help you to find the height straight forward, or you see the inverse function?
3. In how many ways you can solve the question b from the task? Discuss. Think outside the box, bring any other ideas.

Inverse Functions: We’re Teaching It All Wrong!

 

 

Your first OpenLab assignment is to introduce yourself to your classmates.  This assignment is due Wednesday, February 6th, at the start of class. Late submissions will receive partial credit.

Assignment. Write a comment in reply to this post (scroll to the bottom to find the “Leave a Reply” box).  Your comment should be at least 2 paragraphs in length.  In the first paragraph, introduce yourself in whatever way you wish (what do you want your classmates to know about you?).  In the second paragraph, choose ONE of the following two topics and write a response.
