Elements cutting into the narrative: KOTHARI—memories cutting in and out. Taking the story out of time. “Jump cut” – mimicking the way we have memories.

WHEREAS Ng inserts quotes from the cookbook

 

Kothari is allowing her own memories to inform each other. Whereas Ng is using the cookbook to string together memories.

Kothari—my memory is unreliable

Ng—has to read the cookbook over again to convince herself
