Portrait Lighting: Mood

I find this picture to have a good sense of seriousness to it. The key light was used well to show the expression of my face. Along with the shadows that helps bring the emotion in the photo which brings a mysterious and once again seriousness feel when you look at the photo.30457030990_5698b28ee3_o

LL7- SHUTTER SPEED + CAPTURING MOTION

In this photo I really like the motion of those who are in the air. This photo shows depth of field. Overall what brings my attention is the expression on the subjects faces and motions.

In this photo which shows blurriness in the surroundings is an example of a eye view photo. I feel like this photo is so strong because there can be a message behind it. From looking at this picture we can see that the shutter speed is very low. I figured this out by just looking at the surroundings of the photo. The surroundings are blurry but the focus isn’t.

Portrait Lighting: Mood

img_0340

This image of myself sets the tone of seriousness. The side light of the soft box makes a clear triangle on the right side of the nose, that provides a cast shadow down to the neck. This image is successful because of the direct lighting on my face along with my serious expression and dominant eye.

Shutter Speed & Capturing Motion

img_9380

This image captures the very little movement through an elapsed amount of 10 seconds. This was done using long exposure in a shot and having the subjects move exactly at the half time mark. The lack of sudden action is what creates a smooth transparency in the image and makes it visually interesting. I shot this image at ʒ/22.0Ā and focal length of 18.0mm.

motion blur + frozen motion photographs

img_1331
This photograph is a great example of motion blur. its looks visually interesting because one subject seems to be meditating or praying while there are 2 other subjects spinning on a chain and the camera caught the motion with a blur with the shutter speed of 1.0 seconds at f/14.

This is a great photograph showing a good example of a frozen motion. this photograph shows to subjects having a fight. it looks like shadows or a silhouette. the camera was at the shutter speed of 1/500 seconds at f/4.5

Motion capture

_mg_7605

This photograph deals with motion blur. However not all subjects are in motion, the two in the center are still. It’s interesting because the subjects that are blurred are wearing black so they seem evil and the subject in white seem like the good guy or a hero like figure. It almost feels like capturing the moment but since we use the tripod it doesn’t seem as natural or organic. The photograph was taken with a timer of two seconds and the iso was at 100 since the room was already bright.

Shutter Speed and Capturing Motion

From today’s shoot,Ā I found this photo interesting. It captures motion blur very well. In this shot, we were joggingĀ up towards the camera. What I like about thisĀ photo is that it shows me coming closer and closer. This was shot with a shutter speed of 2.5 seconds at ISO 100 and f/22.0.

This photos that was taken of me by my group I really like. I think that the lighting gives the image a very seriousĀ feel to it.Ā HavingĀ the heavy dark shadows on the right side of my face along with the right face make for a very serious facial expression. The lighting coming from the left side at a lower level added the depth to the shadows._mg_6808
