This course is intended for students with an advanced level of proficiency in Spanish. It covers a selection of works of Spanish literature (poetry, prose, drama) from the 19th century to contemporary times. Students are introduced to techniques of critical literary analysis. Fundamentals of elementary algebra with an integrated review and reinforcement of arithmetic skills. Topics include the real number system, numerical evaluation, algebraic operations, algebraic and graphical solutions of one and two variable linear equations, word problems, algebraic fractions, quadratic equations and the Pythagorean Theorem
