My Projects

Project #3: TEXTURE/ FIGURE/GROUND, 50/50/b/w and PATTERN

Project #3: TEXTURE/ FIGURE/GROUND, 50/50/b/w and PATTERN

This project consisted on 20 rubbing textures arranged on a 14″x 17″ grid with no spaces in between. After i was pleased with the composition created I traced and transferred the 20 rubbings into bristol paper to ended up filling the traced parts with marker. The idea of this project was to use a 50/50 ratio of black to white so it would reflected a high contrast between night and dark all around the composition. When I started working on the textures I focus on different elements, from shoes, tables, chairs, and even trees and leaves. After finding the right textures I traced carefully every rubbing to conclude with the filling. Before I used the marker I was a little concern about the 50/50 result, not only because sounded confusing and difficult but I feel the contrast result gives the composition a terrific effect.

My Clubs

City Tech Printmaking Club

City Tech Printmaking Club

This club is open to all City Tech students, but was originally conceived for the students of the Advertising Design & Graphic Arts (ADGA) Department. We have formed to help bring traditional printmaking techniques back into the general awareness of our members in order to ground them more fully in the philosophy and heritage of graphic arts design and production. We work to offer informative lectures, presentations, exhibitions, demonstrations, and field trips for our students to explore all forms of printmaking, including but not limited to screenprint, relief, lithography, and intaglio.
