ENG1101 D024 Composition 1, Spring 2022

ENG1101 D024 Composition 1, Spring 2022

This is a course in effective essay writing and basic research techniques, including the use of the library. College-level readings are assigned for classroom discussion and essay writing. In addition, we will utilize a digital platform called OpenLab, which will help us to engage with each other’s writing and with the world outside of the classroom.

ENG1121 English Composition 2, SP2023 D419

ENG1121 English Composition 2, SP2023 D419

An advanced course in expository essay writing that requires a library paper. Further development of research and documentation skills (MLA style). Assigned literary and expository readings. This is a course using the Core Books at CUNY and First Year Writing curricula. (We’re reading a lot, but you don’t have to buy a textbook for this class, because all our texts are online! Woot!) Together, we will explore and write within new genres, conduct research, and reflect on our writing practices. By the end of this semester, you’ll be able to analyze and participate in genres inside and outside of higher education. The aim is to build skills that will be useful in future coursework, the workplace, and in your personal lives. In other words, this course isn’t self-contained—we’re aiming to give you a toolbox of skills that you can apply to other classes and situations.

My Projects

Game On, Python! Fall 2019

Game On, Python! Fall 2019

Through a video game development group project and a developer’s blog discussing the process of problem-solving used to create the game, this course will present students with an overall inner inspection of both the world of computing and game development. Student teams will use Python 2.7 (python.org), a free python compiler tool, to design a 5 minute, choice-based text adventure game which will later be presented to the class. The course aims to teach students to work productively within a team, provide the foundation for other courses within the Computer Systems Technology department, and enhance the critical thinking skills necessary in an increasingly complex and technological world.
