This course will fulfill one of your writing-intensive requirements. You will be expected to complete several writing assignments, both in lab and lecture. These assignments will vary from a few sentences to long essays and lab reports. For long essays or lab reports you will be expected to hand in a first daft before the final copy is submitted. You will be given feedback on these drafts and it is expected you will incorporate these suggestions on the final copy.
ENG2001 D538 Intro to Lit, Sp2019
English 2001 is designed to develop studentsā ability to critically analyze and understand literary works of fiction. Using close reading, discussion and various writing techniques, you will consider language, details and style in order to develop your analytical and academic writing skills. This is a communications intensive course; you will be expected to participate actively in class discussions and presentations, write informal and formal essays, and respond to your classmatesā writing.
This course is designed to prepare students for the study of Calculus. Topics include an in-depth study of functions such as polynomial functions, inverse functions, radical functions, rational functions, trigonometric functions, exponential and logarithmic functions; solving inequalities; elements of vectors and complex numbers; solving trigonometric equations and identities involving sum, double and half-angle formulas; Binomial Theorem; and progressions.
