This is an introductory course in statistics and probability. Topics covered include descriptive statistics, correlation and regression, sample spaces and probabilities, discrete probability distributions, expectation and variance, continuous probability distributions, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing. Spreadsheets are used throughout the semester.

This is an introductory course in statistics and probability. Topics covered include descriptive statistics, correlation and regression, sample spaces and probabilities, discrete probability distributions, expectation and variance, continuous probability distributions, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing. The main topics of this course will be an in-depth study of functions: polynomial functions, radical functions, rational functions, trigonometric functions, exponential and logarithmic functions. We will also study connections to vectors and complex numbers; solving trigonometric equations, and identities involving sum, double and half-angle formulas; and the Binomial Theorem.
