COMD 3562 UX & UI Design, FALL 2021 OL48
User Experience (UX) Design is an essential component in developing websites, applications, and any other type of product intended to be used by people. This course examines the leading concepts of user—centered design through readings, discussions and assignments. Practical concerns include evaluation of technology needed to create or maintain websites; and exploration of a step-by-step process for creating products using flow charts, wireframes and prototypes. Students will also gain an understanding of issues surrounding usability on the Web, knowledge management and Web strategy.
This is the second half of the first year writing sequence, and it’s all about finding your public writing voice.
This course is designed to familiarize students with the principles and skills of conceptual advertising. And to have the students use those principles and skills, along with your creativity, to generate advertising campaign ideas, and turn those ideas into campaigns that you can use to build your advertising portfolios as art directors and copywriters.

All skill levels + majors welcome! (We’re 100% online for Fall 2020! Hang out with us via voice chat on Discord: https://discord.gg/sQUjMN6) Every 2 weeks, we pick a new topic (apps, environment art, interactive fiction, 3D modeling…) and challenge you to make a mini project on it. Each one comes with tutorials, inspiration + download links— so you don’t need any experience to join. Find your favorite role, team up with other students for passion projects, have a support system for when you get stuck, and try something new. City Tech’s Ink Club is a place where illustrators and sequential artists can discuss and practice their craft in storytelling. On Openlab we’ll share links to helpful resources, general information, and post about events ad work we’re creating.
We are a design club at New York City College of Technology. We host Meet the Pros (facebook.com/meetthepros) speaker series and we release an annual design magazine, Command+J.
This club is open to all City Tech students, but was originally conceived for the students of the Advertising Design & Graphic Arts (ADGA) Department. We have formed to help bring traditional printmaking techniques back into the general awareness of our members in order to ground them more fully in the philosophy and heritage of graphic arts design and production. We work to offer informative lectures, presentations, exhibitions, demonstrations, and field trips for our students to explore all forms of printmaking, including but not limited to screenprint, relief, lithography, and intaglio.
