This course teaches technique, equipment and measurement procedures used by Mechanical Engineers

Embedded Systems Fundamentals and Applications in Robotics

Embedded Systems Fundamentals and Applications in Robotics

This course introduces the students in the MECH, CET, and EET programs to the applications embedded systems in designing basic robotic systems or smart devices. Hands-on design activities help students to build prototypes for various robotics applications.

Computer Programming and Applications

Computer Programming and Applications

This course introduces students on how to use different computer software packages to solve problems in the mechanical engineering related fields. Topics include numerical methods (Roots and optimization, linear systems, curve fitting, integration and differentiation and differential equations) and applications of numerical methods in machine design, mechanism design, and robotic design and programming. A variety of computer software packages will be used depending on applications.

MECH 2410 – Machine Design

MECH 2410 – Machine Design

This course teaches students on how to design functional mechanical components and systems using engineering knowledge, communication skills, and design principles they learned from the Mathematics, Physics, Communication and library art courses, Engineering Statics, Strength of Materials, Materials Sciences, Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software packages. Students are required to complete a multidisciplinary hands-on design project utilizing concurrent engineering approach incorporating mechanical and electronic and software design into their design work.

My Projects

DynaArm

DynaArm

3D printed robotic arm, operated by 5 servo-motors. Designed for education purposes – to give aspiring programmers a chance to control and understand coding and capabilities of manufacturing of a robotic arm.

My Clubs

Mechanical Club (ASME Student Chapter)

Mechanical Club (ASME Student Chapter)

Mechanical Engineering Club serves as a junior chapter of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in City Tech. The club promotes hands-on learning through multidisciplinary design activities and exposing students to the latest emerging technology.

VR & AI Club

VR & AI Club

The Virtual Reality & Artificial Intelligence (VR & AI) Club at NYCCT seeks to explore the interdisciplinary practices and applications involving Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence, including Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Vision, Internet of Things, and Embedded systems, as well as the social, psychological and political implications of such.

Mechatronics Technology Center Research Lab & Club

Mechatronics Technology Center Research Lab & Club

Platform for students from different engineering departments to engage in mechatronics research and to work on hands-on mechatronics projects.
