ENG2003 Introduction to Literature III: POETRY

ENG2003 Introduction to Literature III: POETRY

What is poetry? What is a poem? Why should we read poetry? Why teach it? What is meant when we say something is “poetic”? Is poetry meant to be read aloud? Does poetry do anything? Is it useful? These are some of the questions we will explore in English 2003. This course will provide the foundation for the “close reading” of various types of English and American poems from different time periods. By focusing on the elements of poetry—how the parts work together—students will learn skills and terms used to support an academic argument in literary studies. Students will learn to become attentive to language and be familiar with the reasons for the writer’s particular choice of language. They will learn how the writer uses the techniques and elements of literature and the particular resources of genre to create meaning. They will learn how texts differ from one another and how they speak to each other. Through these and an analysis of basic diction, style, and poetic device, students will be able construct arguments which they will demonstrate in short written responses, essays, and presentations.

Who’s That Pokemon

Who’s That Pokemon

My partner Davon Brown and I wanted to create an app based of the show Pokemon. The app was created to see how much pokemon you could figure it out. When the app starts up you see the pokemon and type the correct answer to move on to the next question. When you click on the picture of the pokemon; You hear the sound of the pokemon to get a sense of how each pokemon sound. The app was created to make you feel like you was watching the show and they was asking you who’s that pokemon. When you click on the check button this allows you to see if your answer come out correct or incorrect. when you click on the next button it moves to the next screen to guess what pokemon is next on the list. In the app My partner and I had 10 different screens and divided them in half. I took the last five screens once my partner tested the first five. In the last five screens I added the pictures my partner found and the information that was needed in blocks editor. I found all the sounds that is being used in the app so you could hear how each and every pokemon sound. I tested the whole app once it was finished and my partner tested it one last time to make sure it was done.

The app that me and my partner Kester Fredericks created for you was a who’s that pokemon quiz. We made the app based off the show Pokemon. We wanted to make the app feel as if you was at home watching pokemon and they was asking you to guess who’s that pokemon. The app is to see how much of a pokemon fan you really are. This app allows you to guess what type of pokemon is in the image. In the app we made the picture the button so that you could hear how each pokemon would sound. The app goes from one screen to another when you click the next button and when you click the check button it tells you whether your answer is correct or incorrect. The app is something you would want to play if you are home bored and a huge pokemon fan. Me and my partner tried to split the work in half so we have about 10 different screens and i did five of the screens and for the five screens that i did I also added everything it needed in blocks editor. I tested the first five screens to make sure that they all work smoothly before we was ready to add anymore screens. I also found all the pictures that is being used in the app and added to the first five screens the sounds my partner found. My partner tested the app once is was finished and tested myself again to make sure it still works.
