Jonathan Atancuri’s Profile
Hello, everyone, my name is Jonathan Atancuri and I am currently in my first year of college and doing okay on all my classes I guess. The reason why I’m attending college is that I got nothing else to do at home and also going to college may give more knowledge to get a job. It seems hard but if I keep working hard I’ll manage my way through this even though this second semester is not looking good for me, oh well life is life. I’m a lazy person just to put it out there. Okay, enough of school talking, the things I like to do in my spare time is just playing video games and to be honest that’s mostly what I’ve done throughout my life. Since I was a child I grew up loving to play video games and it became my passion. There were a couple of times where I would go out and do something with either of my friends or family but most of the time I ended up staying home and play my video games. Okay next up to talk about is my family which is easy to talk about. I have three brothers and two sisters and I am currently living with my parents and three brothers. To tell you a fun fact I never knew I had two sisters until I was in seventh grade because both of them were living in Ecuador and I never met them when I was a child. Also, I’m Ecuadorian. I found out when I was looking through some family photos and saw two girls which I never saw during that time and my mom told me everything about them. I was shocked but at the same time, I was happy that I had two sisters. I got to meet one of my sisters, because she is now living in the U.S but the other one I’ve only chatted with her during face time with my parent’s phone. Well, that’s all I have to talk about and hopefully, these upcoming college years will be easy for me.
My Courses
Mat 1275/Algebra and Trigonometry
An intermediate and advanced algebra course. Topics include quadratic equations, systems of linear equations, exponential and logarithmic functions; topics from trigonometry, including identities, equations and solutions of triangles.
COMD 1100 Graphic Design Principles | Fall 2017
This basic design and color theory course explores graphic communication through the understanding of the elements and principles of design, as well as the design process, including idea development through final execution. Students develop basic skills in two-dimensional design, color and content creation while employing the design process of research, sketching and experimentation. Communication designers use the concepts explored in this course in disciplines such as advertising, graphic design, web design, illustration, broadcast design, photography, and game design.
Graphic Design Principles II_Spring 2018
The exploration of creative visual thinking and its importance to communication design. Students will experiment with image making techniques and learn to use graphic elements to communicate concepts and ideas. The course will emphasize the integration of communication concepts, type and graphics and its relationship to multiple disciplines such as advertising, graphic design, web design, illustration, broadcast design, production, and others. Students develop projects from thumbnails through final presentations.
This course is intended to give you a strong foundation in the writing skills that you will need to succeed in college. You will learn to approach reading a variety of texts with a critical eye, studying the strategies, techniques and forms that other writers use so that you might employ them in your own academic essays.
