Through an exploration of various genres of literature, this course aims to strengthen and sharpen students’ critical reading and writing skills beyond the level achieved in English 1101.

This course combines two composition courses: ENG92W and ENG1101. Skills addressed include critical reading, summarizing, paraphrasing, paragraph and essay structure, methods for integrating outside sources, approaches to effective research, and fundamentals of MLA format. By learning to read as writers and to write as readers, we will hone skills to effectively translate thoughts and opinions onto the page.
