The storyboard is the visual version of the script. It consists of a number of panels that show the visual action of a sequence in a logical narrative. The storyboard is used as a tool for production or to assist in the selling of ideas to clients. The emphasis in this class is on story, idea and development. Students will design and present storyboards for topics including commercials, film and television titles and video presentations.

This course introduces students to core concepts in the graphic communication field including typography, color theory, design and production terminology, print processes, file formats, substrate and digital media.

This course introduces students to core concepts in the graphic communication field including typography, color theory, design and production terminology, print processes, file formats, substrate and digital media.

In this course we will explore issues in research and documentation for text (print and digital), images, sound, and multimedia. You will investigate where information comes from and how it is organized in both traditional and emerging media. We will examine the ethics of information use and determine how to critically evaluate sources. Throughout the course, you will create and present research and documentation projects using traditional and emerging media and technologies. This is a writing-intensive course. You should expect to spend roughly 6 hours outside of classroom time preparing for class each week.
