MECH 2410 – Machine Design

MECH 2410 – Machine Design

This course teaches students on how to design functional mechanical components and systems using engineering knowledge, communication skills, and design principles they learned from the Mathematics, Physics, Communication and library art courses, Engineering Statics, Strength of Materials, Materials Sciences, Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software packages. Students are required to complete a multidisciplinary hands-on design project utilizing concurrent engineering approach incorporating mechanical and electronic and software design into their design work.

Senior Design Project

Senior Design Project

This is a follow-up course of the two product design courses (IND 3610, Product Design I, and IND 4710, Product Design II). It provides graduating students a hand-on opportunity to practice concurrent engineering design. It requires students to pull all the knowledge and skills they acquired in early courses and apply them towards the design and implementation of a product thus giving the students an opportunity to experience team-based design under conditions that closely resemble current industry practice. Students will also develop and sharpen skills in team organization, time management, self-discipline, and technical writing, in order to be successful in this course.

ENG 2700, Intro to PTW, Spring 2015

ENG 2700, Intro to PTW, Spring 2015

Introduction to Professional and Technical Writing (ENG 2700), surveys a broad range of issues related to the domains of professional and technical writing. Students will be introduced to the central issues, debates, and methods from both fields; consideration will be given to the ways in which traditional forms of technical and professional writing have evolved alongside technologies.
