My name is Evani Reyes. My goal is to become a worldwide success as a chef. In order to become a somebody you have to start off as a nobody to become that somebody. I went the High School of Art and Design. I’ve gotten accepted to every college I’ve applied to but chose City Tech (the same college my mother attended). I entered A&D as a cartoonist and left as a upcoming ambitious chef. I currently work at a art gallery called Kenkeleba Gallery, holding famous African American art pieces dating back to the 1600’s, I also work at Footlocker. I got these jobs because I’m the person people see wanting to be something/someone more, someone they want on their team, someone they can rely on. I have many strengths including organization, memory, etc. I wanted to become a chef because one, its been a life long dream to make food other people would love, but most importantly I want to fulfill the dream my mom couldn’t and honor it as best as I can.

HMGT 1102: Intro to Food Service Management/Fall 2017
A two-part foundation for food and beverage management, focusing on culinary math and procurement methods. The culinary math component focuses on accurate measurement, portion controls, recipe conversions, product yields, and inventory methods. Current market and procurement trends are explore, with an emphasis on product identification.
SUSTAINABILITY IN HOSPITALITY – This learning community will introduce the 21st Century relevance of sustainability in the hospitality industry and incorporating the concept connecting the various foundations taught in these two introductory management classes. Connections will be made as students investigate their career options and widen their scope of industry knowledge. Students will learn how to establish a professional electronic profile and simulate a career exploration search.
