ENG2575 OL70 Technical Writing, Fall 2021

Students communicate technical and scientific information to a variety of audiences through written and oral presentations, using electronic media such as the Internet, Power Point and graphics programs. Students also analyze readings in science and technology, study technical writing models and practice collaborative research and presentation. ENG1141 Creative Writing, SP2021 OL02

ENG1141 Creative Writing, SP2021 OL02

All writing is creative, including the writing you do for school, internet posts to social media, and text/email messages. Where there was a blank page–virtual or otherwise–and you fill it with your words, you have, in fact, drawn on your intellectual resources to create patterns of meaning with those words. “Creative writing,” however, generally refers to poetry, fiction, drama, and some forms of non-fiction–memoirs and narratives that use the techniques of story-telling. We will focus on understanding how form and meaning work together and on understanding the types and complexities of each genre–notably, fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama, and cross-genres–so each student can begin to develop their unique, individual voice.

Technical Report on Someone Breaching a Network

Technical Report on Someone Breaching a Network

In today’s world, security is a vital part of networking due to the fact that a network needs to be protected, in this way its data will not be compromised. The reason network security is essential because it helps to protect personal data, files, and other important information connected to your personal technological devices. Increasing a network’s security by creating a longer and more secure password for a system’s router decreases the chance of privacy spoofing, identity leak or even information theft, along with many others. A network allows computing devices to communicate with each other without being connected through physical communications medium, such as a CAT5 network cable or any involvement of wire. The safety of a network is important as a network itself since it is what makes people able to connect to the internet. If someone’s data were to get hacked by a data breach, for example their personal information will be out there on the internet for people to steal. A person’s personal information should be safeguarded like a social security number. Once people get access to someone’s personal accounts then anyone can steal people’s identities and being the direct cause of their close family and friends to also be at risk of being hacked leading to a chain of events.

Game On, Python! Fall 2019

Game On, Python! Fall 2019

Through a video game development group project and a developer’s blog discussing the process of problem-solving used to create the game, this course will present students with an overall inner inspection of both the world of computing and game development. Student teams will use Python 2.7 (python.org), a free python compiler tool, to design a 5 minute, choice-based text adventure game which will later be presented to the class. The course aims to teach students to work productively within a team, provide the foundation for other courses within the Computer Systems Technology department, and enhance the critical thinking skills necessary in an increasingly complex and technological world.
