The first part of this free virtual workshop will feature a brief presentation followed by the breakout session/Q&A portion, where you will speak to HR volunteers in small groups where they will provide tips, tools and techniques sure to impress any interviewer.

During this virtual workshop you will learn how to:

  • navigate the often anxiety-inducing interview process
  • prepare for an interview
  • conduct a phone, virtual and in-person interview
  • communicate effectively verbally and non-verbally in an interview
  • answer challenging interview questions

Dear CityTech Students, 

The City College Master’s in Translational Medicine (MTM) is hosting a virtual open house on Tuesday, November 14th, 2022 at 5 pm est. Details on the accelerated one-year, 30-credit MTM program can be found here. The core mission of MTM is to educate and train highly motivated and driven individuals in the process of developing and commercializing technology-based medical products.  Our curriculum is a blend of engineering, science, and business concepts paired with a hands-on, team-based Biodesign capstone project that prepares our graduates to be at the forefront of healthcare innovation.  MTM graduates have gone on to successful careers in the medical technology and biotechnology industries, clinical research, entrepreneurship, and further education (medical and doctoral training). Read more here about our alums.  During this open house, MTM’s administrative team, Dr. Jeffrey Garanich (Director) and Mr. Muaad Alody (Assistant Director), will introduce the fundamental aspects of the program, including the one-year format, admissions requirements, curriculum, career and professional development opportunities, and job placement prospects.  Time will also be reserved for Q&A and discussion with participants.

At the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York, we believe that supporting the next generation of engineers is important not only for their futures but for the future of the world. Our organization offers a number of scholarship opportunities for third-year students in a four-year program/fourth-year students in a five-year program. In 2022, ACEC New York awarded $92,500 to 28 students from schools across New York State. Individual awards range from $1,000 to $10,000 and are given based on the students’ cumulative grade-point average, college activities, work experience and essays. This year, ACEC New York pledged $3,000 to support National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) scholarship students. Checks will be issued via check to be used during the student’s final year of undergraduate study at one of the approved engineering schools in New York State. Scholarships apply to students in the following fields of study:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Structural Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Engineering Technology

Monday: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.,
Tuesday: 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.,
Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.,
Thursday: 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., and
Friday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

You will need a computer or device with a microphone and webcam. You may schedule as many as three appointments per week. You will need your EMPLID at your appointment.

After you’ve clicked one of the links above, Setmore will walk you through this process of scheduling an appointment:

  1. Select your discipline.
  2. Select your tutor.
  3. Select the date and time for your tutoring session (you must schedule at least one hour in advance).
  4. You can sign in with an existing account or you can click “Skip login process.”
  5. Enter your name and email address (you do not need to enter your phone number). Enter your course in the comments section and click “Continue.”
  6. On the confirmation screen, make sure “Yes send me a reminder email” is selected before you click “Book My Appointment.”
  7. You will receive a confirmation email which contains a link to “Join your call.” Make sure you click this link and set yourself up ahead of time so that you are ready at your scheduled session.

Prepare for your tutoring session:

You can access your appointment either in your browser or using the Setmore app using the link in your confirmation email. To prepare for your 30-minute session with your tutor, make sure you are ready to ask specific questions and have any materials you may need close by.

  1. Do you need the tutor to explain a concept to you?
  2. Do you need help with a particular example?
  3. Do you need help with a particular assignment?

Items to have with you:

  1. EMPLID (on your student ID),
  2. notes,
  3. textbook (have it open on your computer if it’s an online textbook),
  4. assignments.

The ALC follows the college calendar. No tutoring is available on September 2, September 5, September 26, September 27, October 4, October 5, October 10, November 24, and November 25.   

The last day of tutoring is December 20, 2022.

About the Manufacturing Summit

For our first annual Manufacturing Summit, Nanotronics is convening influential manufacturing experts, industry pioneers, thought leaders, academics, policymakers, and key stakeholders for a cross-platform exchange to address pressing manufacturing challenges in today’s complex environment and examine opportunities on regional, state, and national levels.
