Welcome to the course MECH 4780 ( Design and Selection of Heating and Cooling Systems)! I’m glad you’re here and look forward to working with you this semester.

In this class, we will explore the principles and practical methods used to design and select heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems. You will learn how to analyze thermal loads, evaluate system options, and apply engineering judgment to select efficient and sustainable solutions for real-world applications.

We will combine theory with hands-on learning through problem-solving, case studies, and design-oriented projects. By the end of the course, you should feel confident in approaching HVAC system design with both technical understanding and practical insight.

We will meet once a week. Few of the classes will include hands-on Lab activities.
