Dear Students,
This is just a reminder that there is NO 3X5 notecard allowed on the Final Exam, as announced in class and previously on Openlab. You will need to commit the relevant concepts, definitions, arguments, etc to memory.

Dear Class—
The final exam review sheet has now been posted on Openlab. Be sure to fill it out as completely as possible before our session, so that we can make maximum use of our time together. We will only spend part of the time reviewing the exam sheet, so it will help you to know which questions you would like to focus on.
Please note that for the final exam I have decided to stop allowing access to 3X5 notecards. You will also not receive the exam case ahead of time on this exam. We will practice some very similar cases in class that you can use to help study for the exam, however.
Enjoy the weekend and see you on Tuesday.
As announced last class, we will do an analytical outline on Nesbitt’s article that we had planned for last class. I have updated the schedule accordingly. We will stick to the schedule for the remaining four classes.Â
See you later today.
Dr. M
We will do an analytical outline on a section of the Brock article assigned for tomorrow. Be sure to read the article to prepare for the assignment!
See you tomorrow.Â

You can find the Unit 3 Exam Cases on Openlab, under Content–Unit Exams.
Dear Class,
I have updated the schedule to reflect the fact that we will do the journal entry planned for 11/6 on 11/11 instead. Please review the Barnes reading from last class, as well as lecture notes, and come to class prepared to write on 11/11.
Best,
Dr. M
Dear Class,
The school requires me to post midterm marks on Brightspace. You can see them under the “Grades” tab, under “Midsemester grades feedback.” These scores are based on a calculation of the percentage of points you have earned on the total points available so far, to this point in the semester. This includes all of the grades earned in the first half of the class: your participation grade for the first half of the semester, your philosophical journals to date, and two unit exams. You can see the marks and their meaning below:
P: Passing. 65-100%
BL: Borderline. 55-65%
U: Unsatisfactory <55%
SA: stopped attending
These grades reflect your performance on only the 50% of the course that has been graded so far, so that means that 50% of the grade is still to be determined. If your grade is not where you want it, please note that there is still time to make major improvements.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and see you on Thursday.
Best,
Dr. M
Unit 2 Exam will take place in class on Thursday, 10/23. You will have to write a case analysis of the provided case. You can see the rubric and expectations for this exam on the Unit Exam page.
The Unit 2 Exam Case is now available on Brightspace. Go to “Content,” then “Unit Exam Cases.” Use this to prepare your answer. You will receive a paper copy of the case when you arrive to class on Thursday.
Please read the Unit Exam page in preparation for next class. Additionally, you may want to download and fill out the Unit 2 Exam Study Sheet to prepare for class on Tuesday. We will only have a few minutes to discuss it in class.Â
