RBG Op-Ed Analysis – Anastasia Ortiz

In the article “Ruth Bader Ginsburg Advice for living”, Ruth Bader Ginsburg influences young people that it is possible to be in the legal profession despite obstacles that come with being a woman and motherhood. Ruth Bader Ginsburg was an American lawyer who later served on the Supreme Court of the United States from 1993 till she passed away in 2020. She was also the first jewish female supreme court justice. The purpose behind this text was to show her audience (young women) that its an achievable goal to become a member of any legal profession. She does this by showing how she was able to do so in such a difficult time for women along with the hardships of being a wife and a mother. By using an op-ed piece, Ginsburg was able to openly share her story in a way to motivated the youth. She speaks on things that happened to her during her journey but ultimately used every sentence to demonstrate why more women should join this field of profession and how good the outcome would be if they just push through.
