RAB Proposal Paragraph- Ahsan

My Research Question is: Why do Muslims still face discrimination in the United States? This topic interests me because growing up I was called names by my looks and people started to call me a “terrorist.” I’m curious why peaceful Muslims started to face discrimination. How did one event change everything for a religion. I know most can be because we were supposedly “blamed” for 9/11. When people hear of a Muslim all they can think about is terrorist that pops up in their minds. I want to find out how it impacted society and diverse states. What were the causes that led Muslims to face so much hatred? Why isn’t islamophobia more talked about rather than it being normalized?

  1. I think you have a good topic and good RQ!

    You need to edit this:

My Research Question is: Why do Muslims still face discrimination in the United States? This topic interests me because growing up I was called names by my looks and people started to call me a “terrorist.” I’m curious why peaceful Muslims started to face discrimination. How did one event change everything for a religious community. FIX THIS SENTENCE –I know most can be because we were supposedly “blamed” for 9/11. When people hear of a Muslim FIX THIS WORDING –all they can think about is terrorist that pops up in their minds. I want to find out how it [WHAT?] impacted society and diverse states [AMERICA?]. What were the causes that led Muslims to face so much hatred? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? MAKE MORE CLEAR–Why isn’t islamophobia more talked about rather than it being normalized?

LATE — but better late than never! Glad you worked with me in the computer lab!
