“I want you to have a better life than, what I had growing up.”
The person I can say that was my mentor is my mother. She has always been there for me no matter what. Always there to push my limits so I can get further into life. My mother has always wanted me to focus and dedicate my time to the things I have always wanted. Her growing up she really didn’t not have much as a kid and had to work for everything she has done in her life. Anytime she has seen me about to give up on something she has always been there to have my back and to raise my head up to keep me from giving up. At times I get annoyed, but I know that all she wants is the best for me.
As time has passed by and I’ve grown up I have noticed a lot that she’s done. My mother has always put my siblings and I before her. When me and my brother were younger and we were at the store, and we wanted something she would have used her last dollar on us. If it was the last meal and my mother didn’t eat, but one of us was hungry she would have let us, have it. One important lesson my mother told me was “El dinero se va y el tonto se queda” which is Spanish for the “the money goes, and the idiot stays”. She was telling me that saving my money is one the most important things you can do in life. Mom has always been my biggest supporter and inspiration.
Hi Jacob, this is something my parents have also told me countless of times. It gives me the motivation to do better. It’s selfless.
This is a lovely tribute to your mother.
Now, if you choose to use this as the seed for the essay — Can you think how this saying from your mom has influenced you in your school life? Remember we are going to write an Educational Narrative.
Is there a struggle in school when these words echo in your mind? Is there a time in your school life when your mom was “there to push my limits so I can get further into life” ?
