Success Tips- Anabel Nunez

Tip 1: Meeting deadlines. Throughout all my life that has been something I have always struggled with. I am a big procrastinator and usually when it comes to assignments I have this habit of doing them late, which eventually will not always work for me especially now in college. Now being in college getting assignments in on time are mandatory and will definitely affect your grade. Making sure to get the assignments done before the deadline if not the same day assigned will benefit me greatly. Asking questions if unclear about certain things and planning my steps to help throughout the way. In college I hope to stop having this kind of mindset and understand that this method will not always work for me. Understanding that some kind of responsibility needs to be taken on my part to succeed.

Tip 2: Participating. In school I always struggled with participating because I had always had a fear of getting the answer wrong in class and not seem smart enough. While also being a little shy speaking in front of a large of number of people would cause me anxiety. Before I would only raise my hand if I was completely sure of my answer but if not I wouldn’t say anything at all. In college I have noticed that participation is a big part of your grade that engaging in class discussions or asking questions is a big step to succeeding in class. I hope that throughout my college years I will be more open about speaking up. Sharing my thoughts about what is being taught which in the long run will only benefit my education.

  1. I totally agree with you for tip #2 I also struggle with participation and raising my hand to ask for help even more when college is so different from high school it can be intimidating.
