RAB Proposal Paragraph – Carlos v.

My research is: How does music influence the neurobiology of the human brain? I find this topic interesting because I’ve noticed that my mood changes when I listen to music. Growing up in a household where music serves as our motivation, I’ve become familiar with the topic of music and the change in people’s behavior. As a daily music listener, I have deep connection with music as a constant source of motivation. Which keeps me curious about how the brain processes it. I already know that music has the ability to help people relax and lower their stress levels. The brain can recognize rhythm just how we can recognize people’s faces. Music can also help to remember memories just by listening to certain nostalgic melodies and recall events. Some points I intend to explore are the effects of different music genres on the brain and its responses to the body. I’m curious to understand how the brain reacts to different melodies and how it transmits throughout the body. While researching, I would like to see how the neurons look when people listen to music they enjoy because I am a visual learner.
