My name is Solomiya. I grew up in Ukraine and moved to the United States in the second grade. I am both Ukrainian and Polish but am more in touch with my Ukranian side since we lived in Ukraine and I have really gotten used to the Ukranian education growing up. On the other hand, I am in touch with both cultures since my grandmother would always speak about it and cook traditional dishes with us. The traditional dishes of Poland and Ukraine are actually a lot similar than most people expect!
I love animals and have been wanting a cat since I was a young kid, I have recently gotten the opportunity to get a little orange kitten. We named him after a Ukranian tale that was read to kids before going to bed, it was about an orange cat who was treated like royalty and was always being fed traditional foods. His name is Pan Kohtski.
I also like to paint, mostly plants. I find it very soothing, as well as taking walks!
