Hook:

Have you ever wondered to yourself if college is really worth it? Think about it, if you could skip all those years of studying, avoid debt, can you still find success? Let’s talk about it.

Introduction:

Hello, and welcome to my podcast. I am your host, Mohammad, and today, we’re diving into a question that I and many of you have asked ourselves multiple times throughout our lives. That question is “is college necessary for a successful future?”

As a current college freshman, I think about this a lot. I know multi millionaires who dropped out of highschool, but I also see family members thriving because of their college degrees. Through my own research, I’ve discovered a lot of eye opening statistics, personal stories, and even expert insight that I can’t wait to share with you guys.

Outro (30 seconds):
Thank you everyone for tuning into today’s episode. If you are a high school student deciding the next steps you want to take in life, I hope this discussion gives you a better clarity. Remember, success isn’t the same thing for everybody. It’s all about finding the right path for you. Once again this was your host Mohammad signing out.

  1. Let’s give your podcast show a name.

Your Segments — Should you write out a little more what you will say? Are you using a script that covers these talking points to guide yourself as you do the middle section. I hope to hear something of your podcast work in progress in class tomorrow.

  2. Can you give a little more shape/structure to these points in your outline? Something like:

Segment 1: The case for college

    A. Financial benefits:

-College graduates earn more. Median wages for degree holders are $52,000 compared to $34,320 for highschool graduates.

Over time, the initial cost of college often pays off financially (Carrns).

    B. Career opportunities:

Many jobs now filter applicants without degrees using automated systems (Zara).

Some of the fastest-growing fields favor degree holders (Tough).
