Communication skills are essential in order to establish a trusting relationship with the patient and their family. I am able to listen to patients and be attentive to their needs. Listening to a patient is important because it helps nurses to identify and meet the needs of the individual. Lastly, I am trustworthy and honest. I own up to my mistakes, as I am aware that mistakes can happen and they can only help you to grow and learn.
