The genre I have chosen is podcast. This is basically an audio file that is pre-recorded. This allows for podcasts to be edited. But in my case, I will be interviewing someone in my podcast. I actually enjoy listening to podcasts in my free time. I’ve listened to this girl called Avany Ivy and she talks about real word situations and what she has been through growing up in NYC. She also talks about relationships, friendship, and family issues. I think people enjoy this genre because it’s so free. You have the ability to speak your mind. Say your opinions and thoughts. This is what I would like to do based on my topic question. Have the chance to speak about a topic that I’m so passionate about.

The genre I have chosen is podcast. What I know about podcast is that a group of people discuss a topic amongst each other . An example I have for a podcast is “impaulsive.” This is probably the only podcast I can listen to on my free time. This podcast is about a group made of 3 friends and sometimes they bring on a celebrity guess. They bring up a topic to talk about, then talk about it through debate or just casually. Also another example of a podcast is the “Joe Rogan experience.” Joe Rohan does his podcast independently most of the time, but he does bring guest on. His topics that he focuses more on is the information that the government or the press doesn’t want you talking about. He indulges in things the human eye doesn’t seem to gather. Conspiracy theories or how murders did what they did and why don’t the police notice these signs quicker. However he still focuses on appealing the reader on what they want to hear. People want to create this genre to show there opinions in a form of entertainment and give the listeners a moral.

The genre that I have chosen is a film script. But it is a film script for an interview. An interview script is a set of written questions and prospective answers that a candidate will likely provide during an interview. An interview script is used when the interview interviewing candidates. For example, journalists use interview scripts. They may use one to interview a famous person or another person. Another example when one would be used is if you are in the job market. You write down questions that you would ask the interviewee. Someone would create something in the genre to record what the interviewee has said.

I have chosen twitter threads because the people who complain on twitter are the same people who use the MTA on a regular basis, and these people are firsthand witnesses to these problems. one example I found a lady says that how early should she leave her house because of all the delays, she says that she needs to leave 2 hours earlier for a 20 minutes train ride to her job. this example is talking about probably the biggest problem people have with the MTA and that is all of the delays that they have. this example fits perfectly with me what I am discussing because it talks about a problem the MTA has. Another example is “MTA: trains are experiencing major delays. Me (and the rest of NYC): I’m soon to be experiencing major unemployment”. This example also talks about how the delays will affect people, and it might make them lose their jobs, because they are coming in late. This example also talks about the delays and why they are bad. In general I found out that the biggest problem people have with the MTA is the delays that people experience. These example are in common, because they talk about the same problem.

A Interview is a questionnaire, between two people . one person will ask questions based on a topic and data it’s a way to get more data and information on people and topic. for example, when celebrities go on talk shows we see the host ask the celebrity certain questions, to find out more about the celebrity and what they do, another example is a job interview, the manager, needs information on the person to see if they are good enough to hire. These are examples because I will do a interveiw on my little sister or someone my age and seeing more on their behaivior with cellphone, getting more data with how a phone may cause them to feel any negative way. This will be a data based interveiw asking questions on how they feel and their relationship is with a cell phone.

A photo essay is an essay that provides pictures so it tells you the story visually instead of the reader/viewer having to visualize what’s going on in their head. A photo essay considers the order in which the photos are put so it would make sense to the viewer, the photos are carefully selected and have an overall theme. The photos can also be supported with captions to ensure the reader/viewer understands what’s going on. Two examples I found of this genre are called “Picture This: New Orleans” and “Hands Across the Water: Sea-watch Tries To Save The Migrants From Europe Ignores”. These are examples of photo essays as they both provide pictures for the viewers to follow along with the story they are trying to tell. They also both provide captions for each picture to make sure the viewer understands what’s going on by providing some context/background information. What I found interesting about these pieces is how they were formatted, as you scroll down the website and more photos pop up with captions continuing the story. What these two examples have in common is how they were formatted as well as how they both provide captions for each photo. However, they differ because in “Picture This: New Orleans” there are multiple photo essays in this one big photo essay about New Orleans and there are smaller photo essays about things going on in New Orleans. While in “Hands Across the Water: Sea-watch Tries To Save The Migrants From Europe Ignores” only focuses on this one story and as you scroll down the website it just continues the same story. Someone would create something in this genre to evoke emotion from the viewer as well as help the viewer have a clearer understanding of the topic as the photo essay will provide a specific set of photos in a specific order so the viewer wouldn’t need to imagine what’s going on because they can already see it in the photos provided.

Street art to me is a different type of art, where the artist doesn’t need a pen and paper, they use whatever is around them. There are so many different types of street art, it can stretch from a small little drawing to a wide scale building long painting. Examples like Keith Harring doing graffiti in the subway to Dondi White painting on buildings. It also may have deeper meanings behind the graffiti for example during the aids pandemic, Keith harring made a painting called “Ignorance=Fear” to show that since people doesn’t know about the aids virus, they fear it and he was trying to open the convo to talk about it and have a better understanding. Also with Jean Michael Basquiat. Most of his art pieces has signs of showing symbols of slavery, colonialism, and racism. These two examples differ by the messages they are trying to send but they are the same because they are trying to send a message.

A children’s book is a short book, about 12-13 pages that have a front and back at max. And they tell a story with a picture on every page, and a little paragraph at max. At minimum 3 words. There’s usually a problem and a solution, and they usually end on a good note.

    1.) “>” alt=”” width=”” height=”” />

This is the front cover of a religious book. You can tell it’s a children book because the title’s are usually short and when you read it, you either hear an elementary teacher’s voice or a kid’s voice. It also has a very pleasing and luring illustration on the front. You could also tell when the cover says illustrated by: and written by:, or something along those lines. I found the illustration interesting since the drawing technique is exquisite.

The examples I found have in common the fact that most of what’s on it is short and concrete. From the title to the sentences in the book and the illustrations. In order for the reader to understand exactly what’s going on. Not from my examples, but children’s books can differ in the message they want to send to the reader, sometimes there is no message at all just entertainment.

This genre has a wide audience since not just children read them. They’re somewhat easy to create. But most importantly they reach children, whatever you want to teach a child, a children’s book could get that idea across. Or just for their entertainment.

The genre I have chosen in Twitter threads. Twitter threads are about experiences that people write about on twitter for either good or bad. Most twitter threads are written by people who experience certain problems and they want to do something about that problem. An example I found was about a women complaining how long the delays are, and when she should leave her house for a 20 minute train ride, so that she is not late for work. this example is important because majority of New York uses the MTA to get to work, but if they are always delayed the employers will get upset and start firing people. Another example is one person wrote on twitter “MTA: trains are experiencing major delays Me (and the rest of NYC): I’m soon to be experiencing major unemployment”. this example talks about the same thing as the first one, because of the delays people will come late to work, and if they keep on coming late they will eventually be fired. These examples are in common because they both talk about the delays the MTA constantly has.

A Twitter thread is a long series of text (Or tweets) that are connected to one person in order to push information out to many people. I think Twitter threads are important because it can spread information out to the masses at a grand scale because believe it or not, most people you know have a Twitter. Examples of Twitter threads can range from a business mogul telling you how to set up a business to a young adult telling you what bars to go to at certain points of the year. An example I found of a Twitter thread is one made by a user named @Wrongstowrite, in his thread he writes 47 sentences That can make you more money then a 4 year business degree. He gives examples like “Quantify the timeframe of your offer” to “A happy customer is the most powerful form of marketing”. Someone who can’t afford or doesn’t have the time for college can easily pull this thread up and get knowledge that can push them towards what they want to do in as easy as 15 minutes by reading the whole thread. Another example I found was one made by a @sixthformpoet, which he describes how he met his now wife under a strange set of conditions. The whole thread goes to show that it doesn’t always have to be educational, it can be a lighthearted story that you just wanted to share. What the two Twitter threads differ from each other is the information they are sharing to other people but what they share is that, at the end of the day, they are still sharing information that people scroll to and read till the end, people who would’ve never thought to search them up are now scrolling and finding them on their screen just by chance, and now they have the the information and they could do with it as they please.

The genre I have chosen is an infograph, an inforgraph depicts data or information in a photographic and visual layout. I know that infographs are very quick and easy to understand and are often used to be able to describe complex topics with more ease. As it’s used to discuss a wide variety as topics as simple as how to wash your hands or becoming more productive and its benefits towards work, school or yoy as a whole. In addition to more complex topics on subjects such as global warming or data on racial equality
What my examples have in common is the ability to be able to convey complex topics that have a wide vairety of information to them into an easy to read digestible visual represenation.

The genre I have chosen is podcasts/interviews, both podcasting and interviewing are in the same ball park although interviews tend to be more professional & pre determined before hand, podcasting is more free and personal since the host can go more in deep when questioning them and the guest can respond however they like, podcasts also tend to be less pre determined and more random in what can happen. An example of this genre is community like podcasts that take the average man with experience and giving advice and current world situations of tax information and how it will affect us personally and globally
