Meeting Location for Thursday 10/31

We will meet at Interference Archive at 2:50 on Thursday 10/31.

The archive is on 7th street near the corner of 5th avenue in Brooklyn.

Closest trains are the F,G,R to 4th ave & 9th Street. There’s also a bus (#63) that runs down 5th ave.

While we’re at the space,  you will be able to do some research, get ideas for media making, and think more about how to document a live performance intervention.

Bread and Puppet Theater Volunteer Opportunity

The Bread and Puppet Theater are looking for young performers to work on a project that will perform in December in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The rehearsal commitment would be about 3-4 rehearsals and then performance nights. No prior experience necessary! Shows always engage with social issues (environmental justice, equal rights for women, minorities, and LGBTQ, anti-war, etc.).
You can contact them here. Just tell them that Joe from Boxcutter referred you and that I also sent the message.

Class Visit Today / Site Report 1

Thanks for your willingness to participate today and to experience Gowanus from a new perspective. As you reflect on your experience / emotions for Site Report 1, thought you might be interested in this photo that Andrea shared that was taken at the same spot where we did our movement “score” just last weekend:

For contrast, how it looked today:

Please let me know if you have questions about the research component. I’ll be on campus on Monday and can help if you need.
