Research summary.
After doing research and reading articles from many different sources, we realized there was a lot of things about recycling that we were unaware of. Although recycling is great for people and the environment, its way more expensive than actually just dumping the trash. The cost per ton to recycle trash can go up as high as $291 opposed to just dumping them. when it comes to plastic, more than 79% of it ends up in landfills which eventually goes onto the ocean. Recycling, in general, is a very expensive task to tackle and many cities find that dumping is more cost-effective than recycling. There have been many recycling programs that end up being canceled over the years.
