HOW TO CLEAN JEWELRY??

http://www.howdini.com/howdini-video-6690205.html

This can be part of process documentation because it shows people how to clean jewerly. This video can benefit many women, since they like wearing all kind of jewelry and at times it gets dirty and need a clean-up in order to wear it again. The Lady in the video explains the steps that it is need in order to clean any kind of jewelry brand like diamond, gemstones, and even pearls. She says to use three parts of water and one part of ammonia, a soft bristled toothbrush and a soft cloth. When cleaning a gemstone and a diamond jewelry, they dip it in the mix of water and ammonia and brush it with the toothbrush for cleaning. With a softcloth they clean the pearls after each use in order to keep it clean. She suggest to send the jewelry a jeweler every six months to a year to clean it with a ultrasonic machine, which is a best way to clean it more better.
I had seen other videos before about the cleaning of jewelry, but this one was intersting because it dealt with water and ammonia together in order to clean jewelry. The thing that I done before is to just buy the product that is to clean a specific jewerly and use, or just send it to a jeweler to clean it for me. Now that i know this tip i would try it at home and see what the results are.

Well I have learned several things that I knew in brief, but in the class it was well explained. Like when using the databases we have to use specific keywords in order to have good results. One thing that I wasn’t sure about was the use of the search engines, when I wanted information I would only look in databases but, now I can look at any website and know if that information is relevant or not. As we all know when looking for information, we have a certain criteria that has to be made before choosing an article that can relate to any topic we are working on. I see myself looking back at Badke’s book because it contains a lot useful information when writing a research paper. It has several key points that can help anyone when trying to write a paper. I would recommend the book to anyone and I know that everyone will use it at least one time in their life. At some point we will look back and say that we learned so many things in this class that every student should take it and as might well enjoy it with the useful information it contains and gives to students.

Now that we are going to write our first draft of the research paper, we have to put all our ideas together to make it a good paper and very informative. Many students have different strategies into starting their first draft or sometimes they skip several steps into writing a paper and just turn in the final paper. The strategies I will use in my first draft are to focus on my main points that I want to address the audience to. By narrowing each concept of the topic to main key points and giving details in depth it will explain the reasons of the topic and why is it such a concern. I have done several research papers for my other classes and I somewhat use the same strategies I will use now, but since not all research papers fall on the same concept we have to change some of the strategies we had used before and find new ones. Well, some of my concerns are if all my sources good for the start of my first draft or do I have to search for new ones and also if the sources are credible and connect to my research topic. There are more strategies we can use which are to make sure we cite the sources correctly, use information that is reliable to the topic and just try to connect each point in the paper to the topic and everything will be fine

I been doing some research on my topic and I have found some interesting articles about it. I had checked the CUNY+ catalog before and I even got a book about plagiarism, but it wasn’t what I expected because the book was about a case that had happened a long time ago and somewhat didn’t deal with my topic. So I was checking once again and found several books about plagiarism, but I didn’t know which books to chose based on my topic. Some words I used were: “plagiarism”, “plagiarism tools”, “plagiarism in higher education”, etc. It did show me some results, but most books and electronic resources where located at different college libraries. I even checked the own website of plagiarism which is http://plagiarism.org/. This site informs about plagiarism and its backgrounds. Also for those who dont know what plagiarism is and what the consequences can be.

Advanced Research Strategies

Well I tried using Google Scholar and it did give me some good info about my research topic. Google Scholar is a good resource to find information on certain topics because it does give you good articles that we can use. Some articles can be reliable and some can just give you too much information that you don’t really need. So like in Badke’s readings we just have to narrow down the topic and it will for sure give good information in any resource site we look at. I have found several articles that I can use for my research and it gives me the info I need. I found similar articles that I had already research on other databases. This tells us that no matter what resource or search engine we use we will find similar articles in any of those engines being used.

Research Blog – Plagiarism

Choosing a research topic is to thoroughly think about it so much, because we have to know what exactly we are looking for. Like for me I chose Plagiarism but the topic is so broad, I have to narrow it down and choose a specific topic that deals with plagiarism and the consequences somewhat. But yet, I’m still undecided on what to specify my topic on. I know that I want to describe a case in where someone was involved in being guilty of plagiarizing someone’s work. But, also the consequences and I know that in every situation the policies are not the same. So this is what it keeps me from looking further because I’m stuck. I have searched in many databases from the library webpage and I find much information on plagiarism in different parts. that deals with other subtopics like medicine, school and even authors of several books. I was thinking on starting from the main point: What is Plagiarism? Defining Plagiarism? or How can people even students can prevent it? But, yet I’m stuck again because it’s broad and I can find a lot of information but I have to choose carefully the info I want to use in my paper. My question would be how I can narrow plagiarism into a question that can make sense and will I be able to find info and know that the reader will catch my main point about the topic.

Assignment 9: Badke,Liddy,Leibman

One of the main tool of research that people use today is keyword searching. In order to do a research we have to use exact Keywords to find useful information. An example will be in a library because all the books are cataloged by a catalog record, so in order to find a book we need to know the exact information about the book and input them (Badke,35). Liddy’s article showed us a brief use of the different kind of processing that we can use while researching a topic. A search engine gives results to keywords we had typed but we have to be accurate when typing certain keywords because it can give a a lot of information but then not the information we were seeking to find. As we know Google is the search engine that everybody uses anytime and for anything in particular. Just when looking for something in particular we have to input keywords that cannot be to broad instead something that narrows the topic perfectly.

Badke, Ch.4 (Metadata)

In chapter 4, Badke informs us that when we are doing several researches we have to look at the main points we want to get from that database. When entering the keywords the database captures the points that we trying to search and it starts looking for the answers we want, but if we had entered the wrong keywords it would get any kind of information that is not relevant to the topic we wanted. This would be the practice of metadata because when entering keywords that will get your research correct is the main point. Due, to this many libraries started to get different databases because it would be more helpful for students and many others to find relevant information about a topic. So when we are doing research on a topic we have to watch out for our vocabulary use in the keywords search because that is one thing that can define your research to better result and precise information.

Plagiarism & Fair Use

When I was first introduced to the plagiarism policy, I always came to think why would people do such a thing if they knew what were consequences. Plagiarism is such a thing that we know we should not play with it, because now many colleges and other schools are more aware of it. Due to the fact that more people try to do it and get away with it. Also about the fair use of many kind of materials is that we don’t have to have a permission in order to use, but we just have to know how to use it in the right way and reference that person who we took from ii and give it credit for the work we used from them. Due to many changes many people should be aware on how to use other people’s material and give credit to them.
