Learning Log 3

Split

Rembrandt

Loop

Short

Broad

For today’s class our assignment was to capture the different forms of lighting: broad, Rembrandt, loop, and short. This lesson emphasized the importance of light in photography. This class also made me realize the cool effects you can have on your photos through the use of light. Some of the photos that we took gave off a somber vibe due to the lighting.

Learning Log 1-Sharif Tyler

The reason why I chose these 3 pictures is because of the lighting and my use of depth of field. When it comes to photography, I prefer to take pictures using depth of field. In order to get these pictures, I had to change the aperture, and the ISO. The light was brighter in person than the actual pictures. So I decided to change the ISO in order to get some cool effects. Out of these 3 pictures, my favorite has to be the first image with the chairs. With the second image, my intention was to put the camera in the box and take a picture to try some framing, but I was too short to reach it.

Sharif Tyler Homework #1

Adam Pretty

This is a picture taken by a sports photographer named Adam Pretty. I was drawn to this photo because this photo was taken with a fast shutter speed. Photos that are taken with fast shutter speeds interest me because the timing of the picture has to be frame perfect. Also, water always looks amazing in pictures when its suspended in the air. I feel as though Adam Pretty did a good job emphasizing the focal point of the picture, which is obviously the swimmer.
