The photograph that captured my attention was, Francesco’s Gola, Landscape Photography. What I found most interesting was the way the image captured my attention due to the simplicity, but the amount of power it has. At first glance, it looks as if the image were trying to portray a calm surrounding due to the different shades of blue that are seen in the water. The scenery in general is not something you see everyday, which makes it even more intriguing. Then, as you pay more attention to the photograph, it seems as if a storm were approaching because the movement and color of the clouds. They seem to have been captured with a long exposure, while they were moving towards the back. This photograph can be interpreted as calm or it can represent fear and anguish. The image in general reminds me of the saying “calm after the storm”. This is a perfect example of it, in my opinion. I can also see how the rule of thirds was used. On the far left side, if lines were placed, you could realize how the rocks/islet seem to be placed perfectly on intersecting lines.
