Learning Log #12 – PSA

I had to set up the setting for this shoot. I had the table and a black fabric on top so I can have the pills out with the black background. The black fabric was not in a good condition so the camera caught all the dusts on it, so I had to work on photoshop to edit those flaws. I focused on doing close up shoots of the pills to avoid unnecessary things in the frame. I thought about the layout as I took pictures. I like how this came out to be.

Learning Log #11 Magazine Cover

Here is my final look for my magazine cover. I had issues finding the right shot for the cover and editing due to my photoshop issues. Overall it was fun creating a magazine with my name  there’s a lot of history behind the magazine and name itself. Also dedicating the issue to something I’m passionate about “Hair”.

I think Fred W. Mcdarrah did a good job with his pictures for his exhibition. The black and white photos were good and he was able to get the details of the scene he was at. Fred W. Mcdarrah is good at his techniques with photography and the pictures he took for his exhibition basically shows that.

When i looked through the exhibition i just remembered some of the photography techniques. Specifically the techniques i learned in photography 2. For example, the techniques i was reminded of were “Rule of Thirds” and i remembered some of the general composition rules when i saw photos that were taken in those respective ways.

Last thing ill say is that, the pictures were taken with just pure skill to say it simply. That’s mainly why i say Fred W. Mcdarrah is a good photographer and he seemingly just froze the moment; That is how detailed the photos in his exhibition looked. I don’t like taking the train but my experience was ok.

LL#11- Magazine Cover Shoot

The shoot today was fun, but a little difficult. Posing was a little frustrating, trying to figure out the best pose. Not only trying to figure out the best pose, but trying to guide my model to create it. The lighting was good enough, but in hindsight, maybe I would’ve liked to explore more with it. The shooting session was shorter than usual, but I still got the shot I needed.
