Postcards

Description:

Pick 2 quotes that inspire you in OpenLab and create illustrated postcards:

1 design has to incorporate a visual that illustrates the meaning of the quote. It can be a picture or an illustration, preferably something you have created yourself. Place the text with intention and originality, make it look good. Choose the colors, size, boldness, location. Make it easy to read and strong.

1 design has to express the quote with just typography using graphic elements, the composition of the words within the rectangle, size, boldness, and colors.

Inspirational Post Cards

  1. “ Dare to love yourself as if you were a rainbow with gold at each end.” – Poet Aberjhani

For this postcard I wanted to show a visual of a woman in the center of the postcard. The woman will have a cropped visual showing only from her shoulders up in order to have white space around her. The message I wanted to send is that people should be comfortable in their own skin. As a result, I chose to use neutral and earth tone colors. I wanted to use a quirky sans-serif type font with rounded edges to avoid a serious feel.

  1. “Everything you can imagine is real.” – Pablo Picasso

For this postcard I wanted it to be playful. I wanted it to almost resemble a crossword puzzle where they have to piece together the quote. I also want to use a vibrant color palette so the quote sticks out and is easier to read.
