Switching gears for the future as we are doing a new slogan for the company: Sweeps for a Cause. The message is pretty straightforward and wants us to make a few graphic designs with this concept in mind. For the concepts I thought of, I thought this would work but I made a witch on a broom with the text for the slogan. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case since Halloween has already passed and of course it wouldn’t work. Oscar also told me that the graphic would not work even if it was Halloween since there is a lot of stuff going on. He told me to go to Jerry for more eyes and thoughts on my work and so I did. He showed me his own concepts and for me to still use the broom to some effect so I came up with more thumbnail sketches and sent it to the two parties.
One of the concepts that made it was me basically drawing the broom sweeping a few hearts within the donation box. I thought it was going to send a message that the people watching you to donate and I try my best to avoid that. However, it seems to be a success and both Jerry and Oscar loved it! I went with it and refined it a bit and it was ready to set sail! I’m already feeling the college burnout…
