Welcome!

This course is designed to help students develop empirical understanding and analysis of cities. We explore the urban history from the emergence of modern cities in Europe and in North America during the industrial revolution; and the U.S. context from Chicago School scholars’ ecological perspectives to new perspectives on cities, such as New Urban Sociology.
