Received CUNY Diversity Projects Development Fund Award

I am excited to announce that I have been awarded the City University of New York Diversity Projects Development Fund (DPDF) Award for the 2015-2016 fiscal year as a sole investigator. The award is sponsored by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Human Resources Management at the Office of Recruitment and Diversity.

The Diversity Projects Development Fund (DPDF) was established by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Human Resources Management to support educational projects, scholarly research, creative activities and other programmatic initiatives that promote multiculturalism, diversity and inclusion, affirmative action and nondiscrimination for the benefit of the University community.

Calling all researchers and future researchers! The Undergraduate Research Committee hosts a research mixer each semester to help students and faculty meet to hear about the exciting research conducted within the City Tech community and to plan for future partnerships. Plus, there will be snacks and raffle prizes!

This semester, the mixer is on Wednesday, 12/2, from 3:00-5:00pm in Namm 119.

City Tech will have its Graduate School/Professional School Fair at this year’s Emerging and Honors Scholars poster session.  Eleven plus schools (CCNY, CUNY Grad Center, CUNY Professional Studies, Hofstra University, John Jay, LIU, NYIT, NYU Poly, St. John’s Law School, Touro Graduate School of Business, and others) and two fellowship programs (Math for America and The Woodrow Wilson Fellowship) will be represented. Below is a poster for the Graduate School Fair.  This is an opportunity for you to learn more about:

The Connected Futures Research and Prototyping Challenge

The Connected Futures Research and Prototyping Challenge is an opportunity for faculty, researchers and students to collaborate on prototyping new media projects across a range of areas such as the internet of things, empowering citizen journalism, virtual reality and more. University teams from accredited NYC universities are eligible to apply for up to $25,000 in funding for their projects. The application is live at: bit.ly/verizonchallenge and the application deadline is December 15th. Selected teams will be notified on December 18th, and the program will begin in late January. The program includes three monthly feedback sessions in February, March and April for the teams to report on their prototyping progress.
